Sowerby Senior Section in London for the 'BIG GIG'

17th October 2009
We set off on the train to London and a lifetime later…….we arrived!
Through the excitement and hustle of London we tracked down our amazing hotel – like Hostel and settled in.
The next morning, once showered and refreshed we set off to explore the sights (or rather the shops) of London as well as the “cultural stuff”.
The Saatchi Gallery was surprisingly intriguing even for us young ‘uns and a long walk later to Oxford Street we finally experienced our highlight of SHOPPING, despite being refused entry to Harrods!

We returned to the hostel exhausted but transformed ourselves from innocent delightful teenagers – to burly, strapping rugby players. These outfits attracted numerous looks and comments on the streets of King Cross.
We discovered the trains to Wembley were not running and our search for a bus started………..hours later and 3 artists in, we finally made it to the BIG GIG.
It was an eventful but very enjoyable evening and it is safe to say we all slept like logs that night!
On Sunday we managed to muster up the energy to see Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Downing Street and Trafalgar square on Sunday before taking the long journey home from an amazing, action packed weekend.
