Rainbows 21st Birthday Party
On Saturday 21st June about 170 Rainbows plus their leaders and Trefoil members from all over the County joined together to celebrate Rainbow Guides being 21 years old.
The event was held on a very wet afternoon at Holy Trinity Primary School.
Once everyone had arrived we were entertained for an hour by Jon, a circus entertainer. Both Rainbows and adults enjoyed every minute - he was Fantastic!
Once his show had finished we had light refreshments. Then the girls had an opportunity to have a go themselves juggling with the various objects, diablo, plate spinning and if you were really brave you could try the unicycle!
They also
played party games in one of the classrooms - pass the parcel, pin the nose on the clown, under and over games with balloons or musical newspapers.
Finally we all came together to light the candles on our birthday cake, which was specially made by Mrs Janice Townend of Rastrick District, and then we sang Happy Birthday. The girls left with a party bag and collected a bun from the arrangement set out like the Rainbow logo.
Many thanks to everyone involved in helping on the day, especially Lesley Holdsworth and Colette Lumb who planned and organised the whole event with myself. I am sure everyone enjoyed themselves.
