Halifax North Thinking Day Event

The Halifax North Division Thinking Day event

took place on

Saturday 21st February 2009

at Hope URC, Highroad Well.

The event was attended by Rainbows, Brownies

and Guides

from three districts.

Each district was asked to choose a country and then organise different activities in preparation for the event.

The girls travelled to Australia, Mexico and China taking part in various craft and cooking activities.  Each girl was given a passport that they had stamped as they completed an activity.

In Australia the girls made fairy bread, flags and did dot painting.  They also decorated boomerangs and did Australia word searches.

In Mexico the girls made

collage flags, painted colourful decorations on plates and made piñatas.

In China the girls made Chinese food, decorated fans and willow patterns on plates as well as getting the chance to try and use chopsticks.

The afternoon was enjoyed by all and the girls took home the things that they had made.

The event could not have taken place without our Division Commissioner, Guiders, Young Leaders, Trefoil Guild and other helpers and of course without the girls who attended.

So a big 'Thank you' to everyone who assisted at the event.
