8th Elland Brownies - Number Fun
Eight of the girls in 8th Elland Brownies have recently done their ‘Number Fun! badge’. This is one of the ‘new’ badges introduced in the autumn of 2007.
Here is one of the clauses the girls chose to do:-
‘Imagine you have £500 to redesign your bedroom. Find out what kind of things you could buy and make a list to show how you would use the money.’

On 10th June they all descended on B&Q, Halifax. The staff were all very helpful and all the girls went away armed with wallpaper samples and paint charts to make their ‘mood boards’ for their bedrooms.
They also enjoyed completing the following clauses: -
‘Find out about a bank or building society and how to open a savings account.’
‘Find out about three different currencies’
‘Keep a record of how much money you are given & spend in a month’
‘Plan a simple meal & work out how much it would cost to buy the ingredients.’ (Though we are not sure exactly how much fun Mum had being taken around the local supermarket to price it up!)
