Our Narrowboat
The 'Spirit of Guiding' has 12 berths and a shower with flush toilet and a second toilet with a hand basin.There is a well equipped galley, complete with a full size gas cooker, electric fridge and crockery & cutlery etc enough for 12 people.

The boat has hot water & central heating.
Bouyancy aids of various sizes are provided but hirers should bring their own First Aid kit.There is a comprehensive manual on board with instructions for operating all the equipment.
Washing-up liquid, toilet rolls, cleaning materials & liquid soap in the galley & toilets are provided. Please DO NOT use any others for environmental reasons.
It is advisable to have a torch readily accessible for help finding switches on board.
Please ask the crew members to complete the visitors book which you will find in the galley.
The 'Spirit of Guiding' is moored on the Rochdale Canal, The Wharf, Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire, HX6 2AG and is maintained by Shire Cruisers.
How to get there -
By car - only 10 minutes from M62, Birmigham 2 hours, Newcastle 3 hours &
London 4 hours.
By train - Sowerby Bridge station is a few minutes walk with a frequent service on the Caldervale line from Leeds to Manchester.
Follow the brown toursit signs for "Sowerby Bridge Wharf" & look out for the lock-keeper sculpture.
