Centenary Champion

Hi

I’m Pamela Berry and in March 2008 I was appointed Centenary Champion for our county.

This role is totally different from my role as a Brownie Guider – it’s very much an administrative role and mainly involves working with adults rather than girls. It is a role that is already proving to be both challenging and rewarding.

The role of a Centenary Champion is to be the main link between Girlguiding UK and her county. My objectives are to:- Support, Enthuse and Communicate.

We’re looking forward to all the opportunities that will be available for everyone to celebrate the past 100 years of guiding and also to launching Girlguiding into the next 100 years! Many of us are 'Buzzing with excitement!’

Our activities started on 1/9/2008.

All members of Girlguiding UK have had the opportunity to undertake exciting community action projects during the 12 months leading up to our celebrations.

We have been ‘Changing the World!’

From 5/9/2009 until 20/10/2010

we will be enjoying

our Centenary celebrations.

Visit the 'Our Centenary' pages to find out more.

Don’t forget that:-

  • We have a WYW Centenary Calendar that lists all key events & dates (2008-2010)
  • Girlguiding UK has a dedicated Centenary section for Centenary News
  • Articles will appear regularly in ‘Guiding’ magazine
  • WYW adult members can obtain further information from myself or other members of our 2010 Team. (Contact details can be found in our Members area of this website.)

Finally – remember to get those cameras out, record what you, your girls and adults are doing and TELL EVERYONE ABOUT IT!
