Halifax North

Hello

My name is Jane Webster.

I’m Division Commissioner for Halifax North and I’m pictured here with just a few of my many guiding friends.

The geographical area of Halifax North Division covers Bradshaw, Illingworth, Holmfield, Ovenden, Boothtown, Shibden, Northowram, Halifax town centre, Pellon and Mount Tabor.

Halifax North Division has something to offer girls and women of all ages.

We have the following groups:-

  • Rainbow units for those aged 5 to 7 years
  • Brownie units for those aged 7 to 10 years
  • Guide units for those age 10 to 15 years
  • Trefoil Guild for those over 18 who have been a member of either Guiding or the Scout Association or are willing to make the Guide or Scout promise.

We have opportunities for volunteers to:

  • Train as a Young Leader
  • Become a Unit Helper
  • Train for their Adult Leadership Qualification

What do these groups do?

  • Have FUN!
  • Go out and about – camping, pack holidays and trips away from the meeting place
  • Learn new skills
  • Make things, play games, sing, put on shows, have parties
  • Work towards badges
  • Make decisions – as individuals and together as members of a group
  • Meet new people and make new friends
  • And much much more
